Baked cod with lemon butter 🍋🐟
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds cod fillet (or any other white fish)
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/4 cup flour for everything
- Use pinch(s) of paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1️⃣ Prepare the fish: First, cut the cod fillets into portioned pieces to ensure even cooking.
2️⃣ Butter mixture: Melt the butter in a pot or in the microwave. Once melted, add the lemon juice to combine the flavors.
3️⃣ Flour coating: Mix flour, salt and pepper in a separate plate. This mixture gives your fish a light crust and enhances its flavor.4️⃣ Coat the fish: First dip each fish fillet into the butter and lemon mixture, making sure it is well coated on all sides. Then dip the fillets in the flour mixture to completely coat them.
5️⃣ Prepare for baking: Place the breaded fillets in an ungreased baking dish. Drizzle the rest of the butter mixture over the top for added moisture and flavor.
6️⃣ Season: Sprinkle the peppers lightly over the fillets.This not only adds a touch of flavor to the dish but also gives it a beautiful color.
7️⃣ Bake: Cook the fish in a preheated oven at 350°F for 25-30 minutes. The cod is done when it flakes easily with a fork, indicating it is perfectly cooked.
8️⃣ Garnish and serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon slices before serving for added flavor and presentation.
