Apple Pie Egg Rolls

Ingredients:

– 4 medium apples, peeled, cored and finely chopped
– 1/2 cup sugar
– 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
– 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
– 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
– 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
– 12 spring roll wrappers
– Oil for deep-frying
– Icing sugar for sprinkling

Instructions:

1. In a large bowl, mix the diced apples with the sugar, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and flour. Mix until the apples are well coated with the spices and set aside.
2. Take an egg roll wrapper and place it diagonally on a clean surface.Pour a generous amount of the apple mixture into the center of the wrapper, being careful not to overfill.
3. Fold the bottom corner of the wrapper over the filling and tuck it slightly underneath. Then fold the two side corners to enclose the filling. Roll the wrapper tightly from bottom to top to form the egg roll, sealing the last corner with a little water to hold it in place.4. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C). Carefully place the rolls in the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy. Turn them occasionally to ensure even cooking. This should take 2 to 3 minutes.
5. After frying, remove the buns from the oil and place them on a plate covered with a paper towel to drain excess oil.6. Sprinkle the warm apple pie egg rolls with powdered sugar and serve immediately, perhaps with a dollop of vanilla ice cream or your choice of sauce for a delicious treat. Enjoy!
