Ingredients

1 (16 oz) can refrigerated biscuits

1 lb breakfast sausage

3 cups frozen shredded hashbrowns

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or more to taste)

2½ cups milk

¼ cup all-purpose flour

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Optional: ½ teaspoon garlic powder or paprika for extra flavor
Instructions
1. Preheat & Prepare

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or large oven-safe skillet.
2. Cook the Sausage
-
In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned.

Remove and set aside, leaving the drippings in the pan.
3. Make the Gravy

To the same skillet, whisk in the flour and stir for 1 minute.

Slowly pour in the milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.

Cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.

Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices.

Add the cooked sausage back into the gravy and mix well.
4. Assemble the Bake

Layer the frozen hashbrowns at the bottom of the baking dish.

Pour the sausage gravy evenly over the top.

Sprinkle with 1½ cups of cheese.

Arrange the biscuits on top (uncooked).
5. Bake

Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden and cooked through.

In the last 5 minutes of baking, sprinkle remaining cheese on top and return to oven until melted.
