INGREDIENTS FOR WHITE CHICKEN LASAGNE

  • Dairy products: butter, cream, ricotta, parmesan, mozzarella
  • Vegetables: onions, garlic , baby spinach
  • Flour: All purpose
  • Chicken broth, preferably low sodium
  • Lasagna noodles
  • Egg
  • Seasonings: Italian seasoning and fresh parsley
  • Cooked chicken: Roast chicken is great for this

HOW TO MAKE CREAMY WHITE CHICKEN LASAGNA

Make cream sauce – Let’s start with preparing the cream sauce. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Then add the onion and cook until soft. Reduce heat to low, add garlic and cook for a minute, stirring constantly.Then add the flour and let the mixture cook for a few minutes. Now add chicken broth and cream alternately. Cook until smooth and thick. Then add the spinach and cook for a few minutes until wilted. Season with salt and black pepper.Cook the pasta and prepare the cheese mixture. While you make the sauce, bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions. Then drain well. Now in a large bowl, mix together the ricotta, egg, Parmesan, mozzarella and Italian seasoning.
Assemble the lasagna – To assemble the lasagna, now pour some sauce into the bottom of the pan. Next, lay out 4 layers of pasta, overlapping them slightly.Pour some sauce over the noodles. Top with half of the sliced, cooked chicken and half of the cheese mixture. Now repeat the process and add four more noodles, 1/3 of the sauce mixture, the remaining chicken and the remaining cheese mixture. Top with remaining pasta, remaining sauce mixture, and about a cup of shredded mozzarella.

Bake lasagne – Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.Remove the foil and bake, uncovered, for another 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley if desired.
