Southern Sweet Potato Casserole

Sweet potato casserole holds a different vicinity in Southern delicacies and vacation traditions. This pleasant dish is the ideal aggregate of creamy candy potatoes, heat spices, and a crunchy pecan topping. It is a liked aspect dish that brings alleviation and heat to any gathering. INGREDIENTS

  • four cups of mashed candy potatoes (cooked)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup of softened butter
  • ⅓ cup of 1/2 and half
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of salt
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

Topping:

  • 1 ⅓ cups of pecan pieces
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup of all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup of melted butter

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
2. In a mixing bowl, mix the mashed candy potatoes, 1 cup of brown sugar, ⅓ cup of half of and half, ⅓ cup of softened butter, 1 egg, two teaspoons of vanilla, and 1 ½ teaspoons of salt. Mix till properly blended (using mixer).
3. Transfer the candy potato combination to a greased 9×13 casserole dish.
4. In a separate bowl, put together the topping by using mixing 1 cup of brown sugar, ⅓ cup of flour, 1 1/3 cups of pecan pieces, and ½ cup of melted butter. Stir till the elements shape a crumbly texture.
5. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the candy potato combination in the casserole dish.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or till the pinnacle is golden brown and the casserole is heated through.
