Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, and beat until well combined.
- Mix Dry Ingredients:
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Shape the Cookies:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
- Pipe the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, forming various shapes such as rosettes, shells, or circles.
- Bake the Cookies:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve:
- Serve the butter cookies as a delightful treat with tea or coffee, or as a sweet snack.
Tips:
- For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the dough.
- If you don’t have a piping bag, you can roll the dough into small balls and flatten them slightly with a fork.
