Ham Egg and Cheese Breakfast Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 slices of ham
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your favorite cheese)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Bread: Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Cook the Egg: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add a small amount of butter or oil to the pan. Crack the egg into the skillet and cook until the white is set but the yolk is still runny, or cook longer if you prefer a fully cooked yolk. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Assemble the Sandwich: Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet. Add one slice of cheese on top of the bread, followed by the ham slices, the cooked egg, the second slice of cheese, and the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
  4. Grill the Sandwich: Cook the sandwich until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Serve: Remove the sandwich from the skillet, slice it in half if desired, and serve hot.
