Cheesy Garlic Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf of French bread or Italian bread
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the loaf of bread in half lengthwise.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  5. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the buttered bread halves.
  6. Place the bread halves on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Turn on the broiler and broil for an additional 1-2 minutes to get a nice golden-brown top.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing.
  10. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, before serving.
