Creamy Corn Casserole Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 cups corn kernels (fresh, frozen, or canned and drained)
- 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
- 1/2 cup (115g) sour cream
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (100g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup (30g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- Optional: 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika or cayenne pepper for a bit of heat
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the Mixture:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the corn kernels, heavy cream, sour cream, and melted butter. Stir until well mixed.
- Add the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and flour. Mix until the flour is fully incorporated.
- Stir in half of the shredded cheddar cheese and the Parmesan cheese.
- Assemble the Casserole:
- Pour the corn mixture into a greased 9×9-inch baking dish or a similar-sized casserole dish.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake:
- Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is bubbly around the edges.
- Serve:
- Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving. It can be served as a side dish with your favorite main courses.
Tips
- Corn: If using frozen corn, make sure to thaw and drain it well. If using canned corn, drain and rinse before using.
- Cheese: Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese for added flavor, such as Monterey Jack or Pepper Jack for a spicy kick.
