Seasoned Ground Beef

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Optional: 1/4 cup beef broth or water for extra moisture

Instructions

  1. Cook the Onion and Garlic:
    • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.
  2. Brown the Beef:
    • Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks.
  3. Season the Beef:
    • Drain excess fat if necessary. Stir in salt, black pepper, paprika, cumin, chili powder, and oregano. Mix well to coat the beef with the spices.
  4. Add Moisture (Optional):
    • If you prefer a saucier beef, add beef broth or water and simmer for a few minutes until the liquid is reduced.
  5. Serve:
    • Use this seasoned ground beef as a filling for tacos, in spaghetti sauce, or as a topping for nachos.
