Hot Sausage Beer Cheese Dip
Ingredients:
- 1 lb Italian sausage, removed from casing
- 1 cup beer (lager or ale works best)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Chopped green onions, for garnish
- Tortilla chips or pretzels, for serving
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the Sausage:
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.
- Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
- In a large bowl, combine the beer, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper.
- Mix until well combined.
- Combine Ingredients:
- Add the cooked sausage to the cheese mixture and stir until evenly distributed.
- Bake:
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish or oven-safe skillet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden on top.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- Garnish with chopped green onions.
- Serve hot with tortilla chips or pretzels for dipping.
