Ingredients:

  • Bread Pudding:
    • 6 cups cubed day-old bread (challah, brioche, or French bread)

    • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 4 large eggs
    • 2 cups milk
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 2 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • Caramel Sauce:
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/4 cup water
    • 1/2 cup heavy cream
    • 2 tbsp butter
    • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
    • Pinch of salt
  • Sweet Glaze:
    • 1 cup powdered sugar
    • 2-3 tbsp milk
    • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the Bread Pudding:
    • In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread and diced apples.
    • In a separate bowl, mix together the brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
    • In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
    • Pour the wet mixture over the bread and apples, and gently stir to combine. Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes to allow the bread to absorb the liquid.
  3. Bake the Bread Pudding:
    • Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
