Here is a simple recipe for making baked potatoes:

Ingredients:
– Russet potatoes
– Olive oil
– Salt
– Pepper
– Toppings of your choice (such as butter, sour cream, cheese, chives, bacon bits, etc.)

Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Wash the potatoes thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
3. Pierce each potato several times with a fork to allow steam to escape during baking.
4. Rub the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle them generously with salt and pepper.
5. Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet lined with foil.
6. Bake the potatoes for about 45-60 minutes, depending on the size of the potatoes. They are done when they are tender and can be easily pierced with a fork.
7. Remove the potatoes from the oven and let them cool slightly before handling.
8. To serve, make a lengthwise slit in the top of each potato and fluff the insides with a fork.
9. Add your favorite toppings such as butter, sour cream, cheese, chives, bacon bits, or any other toppings you prefer.
10. Serve the baked potatoes hot as a side dish or as a meal on their own.
