Ingredients:
- 1 loaf of French bread or Italian bread
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the loaf of bread in half lengthwise.
- In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the buttered bread halves.
- Place the bread halves on a baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Turn on the broiler and broil for an additional 1-2 minutes to get a nice golden-brown top.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, before serving.
