Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
    • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    • Stir in the vanilla extract.
    • Add the flour and a pinch of salt, mixing until just combined.
    • Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
  3. Assemble the Pie:
    • Place the unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan.
    • Pour the filling into the pie crust, spreading it evenly.
  4. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
    • If the edges of the crust begin to brown too quickly, cover them with foil to prevent burning.
  5. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
    • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
