Ingredients:
-
20 Oreo cookies
-
8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
-
¼ cup granulated sugar
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
1 cup pancake mix (or all-purpose flour + 1 tsp baking powder)
-
⅔ cup milk
-
1 egg
-
1 tablespoon melted butter
-
1 teaspoon cinnamon
-
¼ cup sugar (for coating)
-
Powdered sugar (for dusting)
-
Oil for frying
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Cheesecake Filling:
In a bowl, beat cream cheese, ¼ cup sugar, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
2. Stuff the Oreos:
Carefully twist open each Oreo. Pipe or spoon a small amount of cheesecake mixture onto one side and gently press the cookie halves back together. Freeze for 15–20 minutes to firm up.
3. Make the Batter:
In a bowl, mix pancake mix, milk, egg, melted butter, and a pinch of cinnamon until smooth.
4. Heat the Oil:
Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
5. Fry the Cookies:
Dip each stuffed Oreo into the batter, making sure it’s fully coated. Fry in batches for 2–3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
6. Churro Coating:
While warm, roll the fried Oreos in a cinnamon-sugar mixture (¼ cup sugar + 1 tsp cinnamon).
7. Serve:
Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm. Optional: drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce for extra decadence.
Pro Tips:
-
Freeze the stuffed Oreos before frying to prevent leaking.
-
Use an electric fryer or thermometer for consistent oil temperature.
-
Serve immediately for the best texture.
