Cracker Barrel’s Hash Brown Casserole

– This hash brown casserole tastes just like the Cracker Barrel version and is so easy to make and serve for breakfast or even dinner. (Plus, leftovers can be frozen!)
Ingredients:
- 32 oz. frozen hash browns, thawed*
- 1 stick butter, melted
- 10.5 oz.Cream of Chicken (Fresh Cheddar Cheese also works)
- 16 oz. Sour cream
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
- 1/3 teaspoon pepper

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Make sure your hash browns are thawed. (Otherwise it will take a long time to bake.) To speed up this process, you can defrost them in the microwave.Pat them dry to remove excess water.
Reserve 1/2 cup cheddar cheese.
Mix all remaining ingredients in a large bowl.
Place in a greased baking dish (9×13) and top with the remaining cheese.
Bake uncovered for 35 minutes.Increase the heat to 375 and bake for another 10 minutes, until the top becomes crispy and lightly browned.
Remove from the oven, let rest for 10 minutes and serve.
