Cranberry Bacon Cheese Ball
Ingredients:
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup (100 g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) sour cream
- 1/2 cup (50 g) cooked and crumbled bacon
- 1/4 cup (30 g) dried cranberries, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup (50 g) chopped nuts (such as pecans or walnuts) – optional
- Crackers or sliced vegetables, for serving
Instructions:
- Mix Ingredients:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and sour cream. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Add the crumbled bacon, chopped cranberries, chopped chives, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Shape the Cheese Ball:
- Use a spatula or your hands to shape the cheese mixture into a ball. If the mixture is too sticky, you can refrigerate it for about 15 minutes to make it easier to handle.
- Coat the Cheese Ball:
- Spread the chopped nuts (if using) on a plate. Roll the cheese ball in the nuts, pressing gently to adhere them to the surface. You can also roll it in additional chopped chives or cranberries for extra flavor and color.
- Chill:
- Wrap the cheese ball in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and the cheese to firm up.
- Serve:
- Remove the cheese ball from the refrigerator about 20 minutes before serving to allow it to soften slightly. Serve with crackers or sliced vegetables.
