These Creamed Peas With New Potatoes are protected with a creamy delectable white sauce. They are even higher with homegrown sparkling peas. Delicious!
INGREDIENTS
- 1 half of pounds new pink small potatoes, peeled
- 2 cups of sparkling backyard peas, or 1 bag frozen child candy peas, thirteen ounce
- 6 tablespoons actual butter
- 6 tablespoons flour
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon peper
- 3 cups milk
INSTRUCTIONS
- Cook the peas and potatoes in two separate pots till smooth however no longer mushy. Meantime make the white sauce.
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the flour, salt and pepper and without delay begin whisking. Whisk for at least one minute, giving the flour style time to prepare dinner out.
- Add the milk and proceed whisking slowly over medium heat. Whisk till combination starts to thicken. This would possibly take ten to fifteen minutes. Remove from heat.
- Pour over the drained peas and potatoes and serve.
NOTE
- Yukon gold or fingerling potatoes can be substituted for the purple potatoes if desired, however make certain they are reduce small.
- Fresh backyard peas can be used rather of frozen peas, if you’re fortunate sufficient to have them.
