Crispy Buttered Potatoes Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled and slightly crushed
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Potatoes:
    • Scrub the potatoes clean under running water. Leave the skins on for added texture and flavor.
    • Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise.
  2. Boil the Potatoes:
    • Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Add a generous pinch of salt.
    • Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium and simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the potatoes are just tender but not falling apart.
    • Drain the potatoes and let them cool slightly.
  3. Sauté the Potatoes:
    • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the crushed garlic cloves and fresh rosemary sprigs, and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
    • Place the potatoes cut-side down in the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cut sides are golden brown and crispy. Do not overcrowd the skillet; cook in batches if necessary.
    • Season the potatoes with salt and black pepper to taste while they cook.
  4. Finish and Serve:
    • Once the potatoes are crispy and golden, remove them from the skillet and place them on a serving platter.
    • Discard the garlic cloves and rosemary sprigs. Optionally, garnish the potatoes with chopped fresh parsley.
    • Serve the crispy buttered potatoes hot alongside your favorite main dish, such as roast beef or grilled chicken.
