Crispy Buttered Potatoes Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 large russet potatoes
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, peeled and slightly crushed
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Optional: chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions:
- Prepare the Potatoes:
- Scrub the potatoes clean under running water. Leave the skins on for added texture and flavor.
- Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise.
- Boil the Potatoes:
- Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Add a generous pinch of salt.
- Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium and simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the potatoes are just tender but not falling apart.
- Drain the potatoes and let them cool slightly.
- Sauté the Potatoes:
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the crushed garlic cloves and fresh rosemary sprigs, and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Place the potatoes cut-side down in the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cut sides are golden brown and crispy. Do not overcrowd the skillet; cook in batches if necessary.
- Season the potatoes with salt and black pepper to taste while they cook.
- Finish and Serve:
- Once the potatoes are crispy and golden, remove them from the skillet and place them on a serving platter.
- Discard the garlic cloves and rosemary sprigs. Optionally, garnish the potatoes with chopped fresh parsley.
- Serve the crispy buttered potatoes hot alongside your favorite main dish, such as roast beef or grilled chicken.
