Crispy Potato Patties
Ingredients:
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and boiled
- 1/2 cup grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
- 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
- Mash the Potatoes: In a large bowl, mash the boiled potatoes until smooth.
- Mix the Ingredients: Add the grated cheese, chopped onions, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to the mashed potatoes. Mix well to combine.
- Form the Patties: Take a small portion of the potato mixture and form it into a patty. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
- Prepare for Frying:
- Beat the egg in a shallow dish.
- Place the flour in another shallow dish.
- Place the breadcrumbs in a third shallow dish.
- Coat the Patties: Dip each patty into the flour, then the beaten egg, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs. Repeat with all the patties.
- Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat.
- Fry the Patties: Fry the patties in batches until golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve: Serve the crispy potato patties hot, garnished with additional chopped parsley if desired.
