Why You’ll Love This Fried Bologna Sandwich
Crispy fried bologna, melty cheese, and tangy mustard tucked between slices of golden-toasted white bread—this sandwich is pure comfort food. It’s budget-friendly, quick to make, and loaded with savory flavor.
Ingredients
-
1 to 2 slices white bread
-
1 slice bologna (use 2 if you like it meatier)
-
1 slice American cheese
-
1 tablespoon mustard (yellow or Dijon)
-
1/8 teaspoon oil (for frying)
Instructions
-
Heat the Pan
Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1/8 teaspoon of oil. -
Fry the Bologna
Add the bologna slice(s) to the skillet. Fry until browned and crispy on the edges, about 1–2 minutes per side. You can cut a small slit in the center of the bologna to prevent it from curling. -
Toast the Bread (Optional)
Toast the bread in the same skillet or separately in a toaster for extra crunch and flavor. -
Assemble the Sandwich
Spread mustard on one or both slices of bread. Place the fried bologna on the bread, top with a slice of American cheese, and close the sandwich. -
Optional: Melt the Cheese
Return the assembled sandwich to the pan and grill for 1–2 minutes per side to melt the cheese and crisp the bread further.
