Homemade Pizza Sticks
Pizza is one of those foods that almost everyone agrees on. Carbohydrates, sauce and cheese: what more could you want? Pizza has taken many different forms over the years and one of the best variations might be the pizza on a stick. When I was a child, they were served in my school’s cafeteria and were undoubtedly everyone’s favorite food. Feeling a little nostalgic, I decided to make my own version at home and let me tell you, they absolutely blew it away. This recipe couldn’t be much easier to make. Using store-bought pizza dough, you can bake these babies in the oven in minutes. Cut the dough into rectangles and then place a few pepperoni and a stick of mozzarella cheese in the center of each rectangle. Roll them up tightly and seal the edges carefully to prevent the cheese from melting. Then brush the outside with some herb butter and put it in the oven for about 12 minutes.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 can (350 grams) pizza dough
- 6 ounces pepperoni slices
- 8 sticks mozzarella cheese
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Marinara or ranch for dipping
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F and line a baking tray with baking paper.
Roll out the pizza dough on a clean surface and cut it into 8 equal rectangles.
Place 3-4 slices of pepperoni in the center of each dough disk, then place a cheese stick on top.
Roll the dough around the contents, pinch the dough to close the seam, and seal tightly.Place the rolled sticks on the prepared baking sheet.
