  • Author: kecha

Description

This Honey Baked Chicken is juicy, flavorful, and coated in a sticky, golden glaze made from honey, butter, and seasonings. Perfect for weeknight dinners, holiday meals, or make-ahead prep, this easy baked chicken is comfort food at its finest.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 to 3 lbs bone-in, skin-on chicken (thighs, legs, or breasts)

  • ½ cup honey

  • ¼ cup butter, melted

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • ½ teaspoon paprika

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • Optional: Fresh parsley or thyme for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13″ baking dish or line with foil for easy cleanup.

  2. Make the Glaze
In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, melted butter, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  3. Prepare the Chicken
Place the chicken pieces into the prepared baking dish, skin-side up. Pour the glaze evenly over the chicken, coating all pieces well.

  4. Bake
Bake uncovered for 45–55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Spoon glaze over chicken once or twice during baking.

  5. Rest and Serve
Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley or thyme and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • For crispier skin: Broil the chicken for the last 3–5 minutes of baking.

  • Using boneless chicken? Adjust baking time to 30–35 minutes.

  • Want extra flavor? Marinate chicken in the honey glaze overnight in the fridge.

  • Storage: Refrigerate leftovers up to 4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.

  • Great sides: Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, rice, or a fresh green salad.
