Ingredients

1.5 lbs (700g) pork belly, cut into bite-sized chunks

Salt and pepper, to taste

Oil for frying

2 tbsp honey
-
1 tbsp soy sauce
-
1 tbsp fish sauce (optional)

2 tsp brown sugar
-
1 tbsp rice vinegar or lemon juice

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tsp grated fresh ginger

1 tbsp sesame seeds
-
1/4 tsp chili flakes (optional)
Instructions

Prep the pork belly:
Pat dry and season pork belly pieces with salt and pepper. -
Fry:
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry pork until golden and crispy (10–12 minutes). Remove and drain excess fat. -
Make the glaze:
In the same pan, reduce heat and add garlic and ginger. Sauté for 1–2 minutes. -
Glaze it:
Stir in honey, soy sauce, fish sauce (if using), brown sugar, vinegar, and chili flakes. Let it simmer for 1–2 minutes. -
Combine:
Add pork belly back to the pan and toss to coat. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until sauce thickens and clings to the pork. -
Finish:
Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve hot!
