Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the Dough:
    • Roll out the pizza dough into two rectangles, about 9” x 14”. Let it come to room temperature for easier handling.
  3. Layer the Ingredients:
    • Spread ⅓ cup of mozzarella cheese onto each rectangle, leaving a 1-2 inch border around the edges.
    • Add a layer of salami, pepperoni, and Italian sausage. Sprinkle the tomatoes, parsley, basil, and another ⅓ cup of mozzarella on top.
  4. Roll the Stromboli:
    • Roll the dough tightly from the long side, folding in the sides as you go to seal the filling. Make sure the seam side is facing down when placing it on the baking sheet.
  5. Egg Wash:
    • Whisk together one egg and a tablespoon of water. Brush the top of each stromboli with the egg wash for a golden-brown finish. Cut slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
  6. Bake:
    • Bake the strombolis for 20-25 minutes or until deep golden brown.

    • After removing from the oven, brush with olive oil and sprinkle with freshly grated parmesan cheese and more herbs if desired.
