Jalapeño Popper Egg Rolls
Ingredients:
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup (100 g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) sour cream
- 4-5 jalapeños, seeded and diced
- 1/2 cup (50 g) cooked and crumbled bacon
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 12-15 egg roll wrappers
- Oil for frying
- Ranch dressing or sour cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Filling:
- In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, diced jalapeños, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until well combined.
- Assemble the Egg Rolls:
- Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner pointing towards you. Place about 2 tablespoons of the filling in the center of the wrapper.
- Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll up tightly, sealing the top corner with a bit of water to stick. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- Fry the Egg Rolls:
- Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the egg rolls in batches, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve:
- Serve the egg rolls hot with ranch dressing or sour cream for dipping.
