Jalapeño Popper Egg Rolls

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (100 g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) sour cream
  • 4-5 jalapeños, seeded and diced
  • 1/2 cup (50 g) cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12-15 egg roll wrappers
  • Oil for frying
  • Ranch dressing or sour cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, diced jalapeños, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Assemble the Egg Rolls:
    • Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner pointing towards you. Place about 2 tablespoons of the filling in the center of the wrapper.
    • Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll up tightly, sealing the top corner with a bit of water to stick. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  3. Fry the Egg Rolls:
    • Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 350°F (175°C).
    • Fry the egg rolls in batches, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  4. Serve:
    • Serve the egg rolls hot with ranch dressing or sour cream for dipping.
