Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) mini sausages (like cocktail sausages or small breakfast sausages)
  • 1 pound (450g) bacon, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Wrap the Sausages: Cut the bacon slices in half to create smaller strips. Wrap each mini sausage with a half strip of bacon, securing it with a toothpick.
  3. Optional Sweet & Spicy Coating: In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Roll each bacon-wrapped sausage in the sugar mixture, ensuring even coating.
  4. Bake: Place the bacon-wrapped sausages on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they are spaced apart. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the sausages are cooked through.
  5. Serve: Remove the sausages from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. They can be served warm or at room temperature, with toothpicks for easy eating.

Tips:

  • For a more savory version, skip the brown sugar and spices.
