Marinated Feta Cheese
Ingredients:
- 8 oz block of feta cheese, cut into cubes
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional for some heat)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh dill, finely chopped
- Zest of 1 lemon
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Prepare the Feta:
- Cut the block of feta cheese into cubes and place them in a clean jar or container.
- Make the Marinade:
- In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried thyme, red pepper flakes (if using), fresh parsley, fresh dill, lemon zest, and freshly ground black pepper. Mix well.
- Marinate the Feta:
- Pour the marinade over the feta cheese cubes, ensuring all the cubes are well coated with the mixture.
- Seal the jar or container and gently shake to distribute the marinade evenly.
- Marinate:
- Allow the feta to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to let the flavors meld together.
- Serve:
- The marinated feta cheese can be served with crusty bread, added to salads, or used as a topping for various dishes.
