Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Pan:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Grease and flour a Bundt pan to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugar:
    • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
    • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    • Mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the sour cream, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
    • Mix until just combined.
  5. Add Raisins:
    • Fold in the raisins evenly throughout the batter.
  6. Bake the Cake:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan, spreading it out evenly.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool and Remove:
    • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
    • Carefully invert the pan onto a wire rack to remove the cake and let it cool completely.
  8. Dust with Sugar:
    • Once the cake is completely cooled, dust the top with powdered sugar for a finishing touch.
  9. Serve:
    • Slice the cake and serve it as a delightful dessert or a sweet treat with your favorite beverage.
