Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • 10 oz mozzarella string cheese (or 10 sticks, cut into bite-size pieces)

  • 1 cup Italian bread crumbs

  • 2 large eggs (beaten)

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)

  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano (optional)

  • Vegetable oil, for frying

  • Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (for garnish – optional)

  • Marinara sauce, for dipping (optional)


Instructions:

1. Prepare the Cheese:

  • Cut each mozzarella stick into bite-size cubes (about 3–4 per stick).

  • Place them in the freezer for 20–30 minutes to prevent melting while frying.

2. Prepare the Breading Station:

  • In one bowl, add flour.

  • In a second bowl, add beaten eggs.

  • In a third bowl, mix breadcrumbs with garlic powder and oregano.

3. Bread the Cheese:

  • Coat each cheese cube in flour, then dip into the egg, and finally coat thoroughly in breadcrumbs.

  • For an extra crispy crust, repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating once more.

4. Fry the Bites:

  • Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat (about 350°F / 175°C).

  • Fry a few cheese bites at a time for 30–60 seconds, until golden brown.

  • Use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate.

5. Serve:

  • Sprinkle with chopped parsley or chives if desired.

  • Serve immediately with warm marinara or your favorite dipping sauce.


Tips for Best Results:

  • Freezing the cheese before frying prevents it from oozing out.
