Looking for a quick, crowd-pleasing snack? These Mozzarella Fried Cheese Bites are crunchy on the outside and irresistibly gooey on the inside. Perfect for game day, party platters, or just a cheesy indulgence!
Ingredients You’ll Need:
-
10 oz mozzarella string cheese (or 10 sticks, cut into bite-size pieces)
-
1 cup Italian bread crumbs
-
2 large eggs (beaten)
-
1 cup all-purpose flour
-
1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
-
1/2 tsp dried oregano (optional)
-
Vegetable oil, for frying
-
Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (for garnish – optional)
-
Marinara sauce, for dipping (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Cheese:
-
Cut each mozzarella stick into bite-size cubes (about 3–4 per stick).
-
Place them in the freezer for 20–30 minutes to prevent melting while frying.
2. Prepare the Breading Station:
-
In one bowl, add flour.
-
In a second bowl, add beaten eggs.
-
In a third bowl, mix breadcrumbs with garlic powder and oregano.
3. Bread the Cheese:
-
Coat each cheese cube in flour, then dip into the egg, and finally coat thoroughly in breadcrumbs.
-
For an extra crispy crust, repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating once more.
4. Fry the Bites:
-
Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat (about 350°F / 175°C).
-
Fry a few cheese bites at a time for 30–60 seconds, until golden brown.
-
Use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate.
5. Serve:
-
Sprinkle with chopped parsley or chives if desired.
-
Serve immediately with warm marinara or your favorite dipping sauce.
Tips for Best Results:
-
Freezing the cheese before frying prevents it from oozing out.
-
Double coating ensures a crispier, more satisfying bite.
