Oven-Baked Bacon

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450 g) bacon strips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the Baking Sheet:
    • Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil. This will make cleanup easier and help prevent sticking.
  3. Arrange the Bacon:
    • Lay the bacon strips in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure the strips are not overlapping for even cooking.
  4. Bake the Bacon:
    • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and browned to your liking. Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the bacon.
  5. Drain and Serve:
    • Remove the bacon from the oven and transfer the strips to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess grease.
  6. Clean Up:
    • Once the bacon grease has cooled, you can easily lift and discard the foil with the grease.

Tips:

  • For Chewier Bacon: Bake for a shorter time.
  • For Extra Crispy Bacon: Bake for a few minutes longer, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
  • Add Flavor: Sprinkle the bacon with black pepper, brown sugar, or chili flakes before baking for added flavor.
