Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch pan or line with parchment paper.
-
Make the bar dough:
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
Beat in eggs one at a time, then add maple syrup and vanilla. Mix well.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined. -
Bake:
Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
Bake for 22–25 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
Let cool completely in the pan. -
Make the maple filling:
In a medium bowl, beat the butter and maple syrup until smooth.
Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, and a pinch of salt.
Mix until fluffy and spreadable. -
Assemble the bars:
Once the baked bars are fully cooled, cut them in half horizontally (or bake two thinner layers if preferred).
Spread the filling evenly over one half, then top with the second half.
Gently press down and chill for 15–30 minutes before slicing into bars.
