Crispy Pastry Layers

Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup water (or as needed)
- 2/3 cup butter, at room temperature
Instructions:
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add water and knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
- Roll and Layer:
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a thin rectangle. Spread the butter evenly over the dough, leaving a small margin at the edges.
- Fold the dough in thirds, like a letter. Rotate it 90 degrees and roll out again to a rectangle. Repeat the folding and rolling process 3-4 times to create multiple layers.
- Cut and Shape:
- After the final rolling, cut the dough into small squares or triangles. Optionally, place a small piece of cheese or jam in the center before folding them into desired shapes.
- Bake:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Arrange the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden and puffed up.
- Serving:
- Let them cool slightly on a wire rack before serving. Enjoy your crispy, flaky pastries warm!
