Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Snapper
Pat the red snapper fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place snapper in the pan, skin-side down if using skin-on fillets. Cook for 3–4 minutes per side, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Step 2: Make the Creamy Creole Sauce
In the same skillet, add butter and sauté onions and red bell pepper until soft, about 4–5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
Stir in Creole seasoning, chicken broth, and lemon juice. Bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
