Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Marinade:
    • In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well.
    • Add the sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  2. Stir-Fry the Vegetables:
    • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
    • Add the sliced onion and green bell pepper. Stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until they start to soften. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Cook the Beef:
    • In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil.
    • Add the minced garlic and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Add the marinated beef to the skillet. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the beef is browned and cooked through.
  4. Combine and Serve:
    • Return the cooked onions and bell peppers to the skillet with the beef.
    • Pour in the beef broth and stir well to combine all ingredients. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
    • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve the Beef Stir-Fry hot, over cooked rice if desired.

Tips:

  • Marinade Time: For more intense flavors, marinate the beef for at least 30 minutes or even overnight.
  • Vegetable Variations: Feel free to add other vegetables like broccoli, snap peas, or carrots for more variety.
