Seasoned Oyster Crackers

Ingredients:

  • 1 package (10-12 oz) oyster crackers
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch dressing mix
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. Prepare Seasoning Mix:
    • In a small bowl, combine the ranch dressing mix, garlic powder, onion powder, dried dill weed, and poppy seeds if using.
  3. Coat Crackers:
    • Place the oyster crackers in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with vegetable oil or melted butter. Toss to coat the crackers evenly.
  4. Add Seasoning:
    • Sprinkle the seasoning mix over the coated oyster crackers. Toss well to ensure all crackers are evenly seasoned.
  5. Bake:
    • Spread the seasoned crackers in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the crackers are golden and crispy.
  6. Cool:
    • Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the crackers cool completely.
  7. Serve:
    • Serve the seasoned oyster crackers as a snack or as a crunchy topping for soups and salads.
