Slow Cooker Pepper Steak Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • two kilos (about 900g) red meat sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup red meat broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon floor black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 bell peppers, thinly sliced (assorted colors)
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste (optional)
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving
  • Sesame seeds and chopped inexperienced onions for garnish (optional)

Prepare Beef:
In a bowl, mix thinly sliced red meat with soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, brown sugar, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Toss the red meat till evenly covered with the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 15-20 minutes.
Sear Beef:
In a skillet over medium-high heat, warmth vegetable oil. Sear the marinated pork slices in batches till browned on each sides. Transfer the seared pork to the gradual cooker.
Prepare Sauce:
In a bowl, combine red meat broth and tomato paste (if using). Pour the combination over the seared red meat in the sluggish cooker.

Cook in Slow Cooker:
