Ingredients
-
1/2 cup unsalted butter
-
8 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped
-
3/4 cup granulated sugar
-
1/4 cup brown sugar
-
2 large eggs
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
-
1/4 tsp baking powder
-
1/4 tsp salt
-
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (for swirling)
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Melt butter and chocolate together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water (or use the microwave in 30-second bursts). Stir until smooth and let it cool slightly.
-
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
-
Slowly add the cooled chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, stirring until well combined.
-
Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add to the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
-
Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls onto the baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
-
Warm the peanut butter slightly for easier swirling, then drizzle a small amount on top of each cookie and swirl with a toothpick or skewer.
-
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are slightly soft.
-
Let the cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
-
Use high-quality chocolate for a richer flavor.
-
For a crunchier texture, add chopped peanuts or chocolate chunks.
-
These cookies store well in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
-
Swirl gently for the best marbled look without mixing too much.
