Ingredients:
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 16 pieces frozen pork wontons
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Shaoxing cooking wine
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 heads bok choy, chopped
- ½ pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 scallions, thinly sliced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Chili oil (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Broth:
In a medium saucepan over high heat, combine the chicken broth, minced ginger, soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, and sesame oil. Bring the mixture to a simmer. - Simmer:
Cover the pot, reduce the heat to medium, and let the broth simmer for about 10 minutes to meld the flavors. - Cook the Wontons:
Add the frozen wontons to the simmering broth. Cook until the wontons float to the top, about 5 minutes. - Add Bok Choy and Shrimp:
Stir in the bok choy and shrimp. Cook until the bok choy is tender and the shrimp turn pink, about 3–5 minutes. - Season:
Taste the broth and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper, if needed. - Assemble the Bowls:
Using a slotted spoon, transfer the shrimp and bok choy to 4 serving bowls, dividing them equally. Add 4 wontons to each bowl. - Serve the Soup:
Ladle the hot broth over the shrimp, wontons, and bok choy. Drizzle with chili oil, if desired, for a spicy kick.
