Salted Caramel Banana Bread

Banana bread is a beloved classic and the addition of salted caramel gives it a whole new twist. The combination of moist banana bread and the sweet, salty caramel flavor is simply irresistible. This salted caramel banana bread recipe is sure to become a favorite of everyone who tries it.

Ingredients:

For banana bread:

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

For the salted one Caramel icing:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 cup cream
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
2. In a large bowl, stir the bananas until smooth. Add the melted butter, baking powder, salt and sugar and mix well.3. Add the beaten egg and vanilla extract to the bowl and stir until well combined.
4. Gradually add the flour to the bowl and stir until the dough is just combined.
5.Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
6. Let the bread cool in the tin for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
7. While the bread is cooling, prepare the salted caramel glaze.In a medium saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium-high heat. Stir until the sugar is dissolved, then stop stirring and bring the mixture to a boil.
8. Continue cooking the mixture, shaking the pan occasionally, until it turns a deep amber color.
9.Remove the pan from the heat and carefully add the cream, stirring constantly until fully incorporated.
10. Add the butter and sea salt to the pan and stir until the mixture is smooth.
11. Drizzle the caramel glaze over the cooled banana bread and spread it evenly with a spoon or spatula.
