Italian Sub Squares
Ingredients:
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1/4 pound (115 g) sliced ham
- 1/4 pound (115 g) sliced salami
- 1/4 pound (115 g) sliced pepperoni
- 1/4 pound (115 g) sliced provolone cheese
- 1/4 pound (115 g) sliced mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup (60 g) sliced red onions
- 1/2 cup (75 g) sliced bell peppers
- 1/2 cup (75 g) sliced tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) Italian dressing
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch (23×33 cm) baking dish to form the crust. Press the seams together to seal.
- Assemble the Layers:
- Layer the ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese, mozzarella cheese, red onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes over the crust.
- Drizzle the Italian dressing and olive oil evenly over the top.
- Sprinkle with oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
- Bake the Sub Squares:
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
- Serve:
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Cut into squares and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
