Cheesy Beef and Macaroni Casserole

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound floor beef
  • 2 cups raw macaroni
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese for topping

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Preheat your oven to 350 stages F (175 tiers C).
2. In a massive skillet, warmness the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté till onions are translucent.
3. Increase the warmness to medium-high and add the floor red meat to the skillet. Cook till pork is browned and crumbly.
4. Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring the combination to a simmer, then minimize the warmth and let it cook dinner gently whilst you put together the macaroni.
5. In a massive pot of boiling salted water, cook dinner the macaroni in accordance to bundle directions till al dente. Drain well.
6. In a giant mixing bowl, mix the cooked macaroni and the pork sauce. Mix in 1/2 of the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
7. Transfer the macaroni combination to a baking dish. Sprinkle the last cheddar and mozzarella cheeses over the top, then end with a layer of grated Parmesan.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or till the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
9. Let the casserole stand for 5 minutes earlier than serving.
