Classic Pecan Pie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, granulated sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  3. Assemble the Pie:
    • Spread the pecan halves evenly in the bottom of the unbaked pie crust.
    • Pour the filling mixture over the pecans, making sure they are evenly distributed.
  4. Bake the Pie:
    • Place the pie on a baking sheet to catch any drips and transfer it to the preheated oven.
    • Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown. To check for doneness, the center of the pie should be slightly firm and not jiggly.
  5. Cool and Serve:
    • Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack. This will allow the filling to set properly.
    • Serve the pecan pie at room temperature or chilled. Enjoy with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
