Classic Pecan Pie Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the Filling:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, granulated sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
- Assemble the Pie:
- Spread the pecan halves evenly in the bottom of the unbaked pie crust.
- Pour the filling mixture over the pecans, making sure they are evenly distributed.
- Bake the Pie:
- Place the pie on a baking sheet to catch any drips and transfer it to the preheated oven.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown. To check for doneness, the center of the pie should be slightly firm and not jiggly.
- Cool and Serve:
- Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack. This will allow the filling to set properly.
- Serve the pecan pie at room temperature or chilled. Enjoy with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
