Creamy No-Bake Vanilla Pudding Dessert

  • Author: kecha

Description

This smooth and creamy vanilla pudding is a quick no-bake dessert that’s rich, velvety, and perfectly sweet. Topped with a layer of chocolate sprinkles, it’s a crowd-pleaser for all ages. Serve it chilled for the ultimate spoonable treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups whole milk

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/4 cup cornstarch

  • 2 large egg yolks

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

  • Chocolate sprinkles (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the base:
In a medium saucepan, whisk together sugar, cornstarch, salt, and egg yolks. Slowly pour in milk and cream while whisking continuously until fully combined.

  2. Cook the pudding:
Place the pan over medium heat. Cook the mixture, stirring constantly with a whisk or spatula, until it thickens and begins to bubble (about 6–8 minutes).

  3. Add flavor:
Remove from heat. Stir in butter and vanilla extract until smooth and glossy.

  4. Chill the pudding:
Pour the pudding into a glass container or individual serving cups. Let it cool slightly before covering. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.

  5. Top and serve:
Sprinkle chocolate sprinkles generously over the top before serving. Enjoy chilled.

Notes

  • Flavor twist: Use caramel or coffee extract instead of vanilla for variety.

  • For extra richness: Replace whole milk with full cream or add an extra egg yolk.

  • Make it layered: Alternate pudding with crushed cookies or graham crackers.

  • Storage: Keeps well in the fridge for up to 3 days, covered.
