Ingredients

Filling:

  • 1/2 pound bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon steak seasoning (e.g., McCormick)
  • 12 ounces Velveeta, cubed
  • 1 1/2 cups cheddar jack cheese, grated

Dough:

1 (13.8-ounce) thin-crust pizza dough (e.g., Pillsbury)
Sauce (for dipping):

1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons ketchup
Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet over medium-low heat, cook the chopped bacon until it’s crispy. Remove the bacon from the pan and set it aside, draining most of the grease from the pan.

Prepare the Filling:

In the same skillet, increase the heat to medium-high. Add the chopped onions and ground beef, cooking until the onions are soft and the beef is fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
Reduce the heat to low and add the cooked bacon back into the pan. Season with steak seasoning.
Add the cubed Velveeta, stirring continuously until the cheese is melted and thoroughly mixed with the meat.

Roll out the pizza dough onto the prepared baking sheet to form a 15×10-inch rectangle.
Spread the meat and cheese mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
Sprinkle the grated cheddar jack cheese over the meat mixture.
Starting from one of the long sides, carefully roll up the dough like a cinnamon roll, pinching the seam and edges to seal.
Bake: Place the rolled dough seam-side down on the baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown.

Cool and Slice: Let the bread cool for 5-10 minutes to allow the filling to set, then slice into pieces.

Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, ketchup, salt, and pepper. Serve as a dipping sauce alongside the Garbage Bread slices.
