-
2–3 tbsp milk (adjust for consistency)

Instructions
Step 1: Make the Cake
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan or two 8-inch round pans.
-
In a large bowl, cream together butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
-
Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then add vanilla.
-
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
-
Alternate adding the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the batter, mixing just until combined.
-
Fold in the M&M’s gently.
-
Pour batter into the prepared pan(s) and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
-
Let the cake cool completely before frosting.
Step 2: Make the Peanut Butter Frosting
-
In a medium bowl, beat together butter and peanut butter until creamy.
-
Gradually mix in powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth and fluffy.
-
Adjust consistency by adding more milk or powdered sugar as needed.
Step 3: Frost & Decorate
-
Spread the peanut butter frosting over the cooled cake.
-
Sprinkle with extra M&M’s for decoration and crunch.
Tips & Tricks
-
Use mini M&M’s for better distribution in the batter.
-
Don’t overmix once the M&M’s are added — this prevents color bleed.
-
Swap buttermilk for milk + 1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice if needed.
