Made with layers of soft tea biscuits and smooth vanilla custard, this cake sets beautifully in the fridge and tastes even better the next day. It’s budget-friendly, quick, and a great treat for gatherings or everyday cravings.

 Ingredients

For the Custard Cream:

  • 3 cups (750 ml) milk

  • 3 egg yolks

  • ½ cup (100 g) sugar

  • ⅓ cup (40 g) cornstarch

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla sugar

  • 2 tbsp butter (optional for extra creaminess)

For the Layers:

  • 1–2 packs plain tea biscuits (Marie biscuits or similar)

  • ½ cup (120 ml) milk or coffee (to lightly dip the biscuits, optional)

  • Cocoa powder for dusting on top

 Instructions

1. Make the Custard

  1. In a saucepan, whisk together egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch.

  2. Slowly pour in the milk while mixing to avoid lumps.

  3. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens into a smooth custard.

  4. Remove from heat and add vanilla and butter.

  5. Let it cool slightly (warm but not hot).

2. Prepare the Mold

  1. Line a loaf pan with plastic wrap, leaving enough overhang to lift the cake out later.

3. Assemble the Cake

  1. Add a layer of biscuits to the bottom of the lined pan.

    • Dip them quickly in milk or coffee if you want them softer (optional).

  2. Spread a generous layer of custard over the biscuits.

  3. Repeat the layers: biscuits → custard → biscuits → custard…

  4. Finish with a biscuit layer on top.

4. Chill

  1. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (overnight is best).

  2. Unmold the cake onto a plate and peel off the plastic wrap.

  3. Dust the entire top with cocoa powder.

 Conclusion

This No-Bake Biscuit & Custard Cake is proof that delicious desserts don’t need fancy ingredients or complicated steps. With creamy layers, soft biscuits, and a rich cocoa finish, it’s a crowd-pleasing treat anyone can make. Serve chilled, slice gently, and enjoy every silky bite!
