A simple combination of four ingredients has never tasted so good: puff pastry, bacon, maple syrup and brown sugar come together in the recipe below to create a sweet and savory flatbread you won’t be able to resist.
Butter Puff Pastry is the perfect base for crispy bacon and sweet maple; Just make sure you prick it well so it bakes evenly. Delicious both hot and cold, this flatbread is the perfect appetizer or game day party snack.
If you want to add a little more flavor to this mixture, adding crumbled goat cheese or blue cheese is a great change!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound bacon
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place the bacon on a wire rack and place on a foil-lined baking sheet. Bake the bacon for 20 minutes until crispy.
2.Remove the bacon from the oven and let it cool.
3. Roll out the puff pastry and prick it all over with a fork so that it doesn’t rise too much during baking. Drizzle with half the maple syrup and sprinkle with half the brown sugar.
4.Cut the bacon into pieces and sprinkle on top. Drizzle with remaining maple syrup and sprinkle with remaining brown sugar.
5. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly and cut into bite-sized triangles with a pizza cutter.

Enjoy.
