Ingredients:

For the Cake:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan, ensuring all crevices are covered.
  2. Prepare the Cake Batter:
    • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
    • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    • Mix in the vanilla extract and sour cream until well combined.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  3. Bake the Cake:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan, spreading it evenly.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then invert it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  4. Prepare the Caramel Glaze:
    • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, butter, and milk. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly.
    • Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
    • Gradually whisk in the sifted powdered sugar until the glaze is smooth and thickened.
  5. Glaze the Cake:
    • Once the cake has cooled, place it on a serving platter.
    • Drizzle the caramel glaze over the top of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides.
    • Let the glaze set for a few minutes before serving.
